Why Carton Flow Maintenance Matters

Carton flow systems are designed to be low-maintenance — but “low” doesn’t mean “none.” Dust, debris, and product wear can cause slowdowns and picking issues over time.

Routine inspections help:

  • Prevent jams and carton damage
  • Ensure pitch, rollers, and dividers stay aligned
  • Support safe, ergonomic picking
  • Keep the system in sync with current carton specs

As carton sizes, packaging materials, and SKU profiles evolve, regular inspections help ensure your system remains properly configured for consistent flow, safe picking, and efficient restocking.

Simple Carton Flow Rack Inspection Checklist

Use this quick list to keep your carton flow rack clean, aligned, and operating at peak performance.

  • Roller/Wheel Tracks — Clear dust, debris, and loose packaging
  • Lane Pitch — Check for sagging or misaligned shelves
  • Fasteners & Frame Connections — Tighten shelf beams, dividers, guides, and frame bolts
  • Entry Guides & Dividers — Ensure they’re securely attached and undamaged
  • Wheels & Rollers — Replace any that stick, wobble, or show excessive wear
  • Frame Condition — Inspect for rust, dents, or signs of structural stress

🧽 Quick Tip: Sweep or vacuum flow lanes regularly — clean lanes = smooth flow.

Carton Flow Components Are Built to Last

Dyna-Flo HD

Cart-Trak

Mallard carton flow products are designed for high-throughput environments and low-maintenance performance.

  • Dyna-Flo & Dyna-Flo HD wheeled shelves feature durable polypropylene wheels, steel axles, and full-width shelf coverage to maximize SKU lane capacity. These wheeled systems are ideal for mixed carton, case, or tote sizes.
  • Cart-Trak rollers are galvanized and pre-lubricated for long-term performance. Choose between standard or bearing rollers based on carton/tote style and load weight. Roller flow is best suited for consistent carton or tote sizes across the shelf.
  • Accessories such as Slim-Fit lane guides, tilt trays, and impact trays are built to last and fully adjustable — enhancing lane efficiency, ergonomic picking, and component protection.
